Matthew Hickey, MD

Assistant Professor of Medicine

Dr. Matt Hickey is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of HIV, ID, & Global Medicine at San Francisco General Hospital. His research focuses on two main areas: 1) implementation research to improve delivery of hypertension and cardiovascular disease preventive care in rural East Africa and 2) developing and testing low-barrier models of HIV care for people experiencing homelessness and other barriers to retention in care in urban US-based settings. He also sees patients at the Ward 86 HIV clinic at San Francisco General Hospital.
