CLINICAL ACTIVITIES
Ajit Limaye specializes in infectious diseases with a focus on immunocompromised patients, including those with solid organ or stem cell transplants. He attends on the Transplant/Immunocompromised Host Infectious Diseases Inpatient Consult Service and is based at UCSF-Parnassus.
RESEARCH AND PROGRAM ACTIVITIES
Ajit serves as the Director of the Transplant/Immunocompromised Host Infectious Disease Program. His research focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of viral infections (CMV, BK virus, respiratory viruses) in transplant patients. He leads several NIH-sponsored randomized multicenter clinical trials of new preventive and therapeutic strategies for CMV.
